Spring has finally arrived — the days are getting longer, the sun a little warmer and nature is slowly coming back to life. It’s a season of renewal and growth, but just like nature, we don’t need to rush into it. Instead, let's find ways we can ease into this brighter season with more energy, creativity and flow.
Here are some fresh ideas to help you feel good as you step into spring.
Get outside & soak it all in
After months of wrapping up against the cold, it feels good to step outside without being bundled in layers. The warmer days and lighter evenings are a gentle nudge to spend more time in nature.
Spring is the perfect time to break away from your usual route. I’ve recently started walking the school run again instead of driving, a couple of times a week, and it’s surprisingly much less stressful — plus, it’s a great way to enjoy the fresh air and the endless stream of weird and wonderful questions from my 9 year old!
Whether isn't ditching the car for walking, heading out for an evening stroll or finding a new woodland trail, Spring is the perfect time to get outdoors more, soak up the sunshine and getting those happy hormones flowing.

Rediscovering Creativity
I don’t know about you, but sometimes life can feel a little monotonous—there’s only so much Netflix and episodes of Celebrity Catchphrase I can take! So, I’ve been looking for ways to bring more creativity into my days.
Lately, I’ve been trying painting by numbers (I’m no artist, so this is perfect for me). It’s a really mindful way to switch off without automatically reaching for the remote. I’ve also taken my first steps into making my own sourdough—more on that soon!
Maybe this is the time for you to try something new too—whether it’s a creative hobby at home or joining a class or group. Now that winter’s sluggishness is lifting, spring’s fresh energy is the perfect time to dive in!
Embracing Spring energy with Yoga Twists
As the world around us awakens, it's the perfect opportunity to bring more movement into your yoga practice. And if you haven’t been to class in a while, why not join one of my mixed-level sessions and ease back in?
Twists are perfect for spring — they stimulate circulation, boost energy and release tension. Twists also symbolise letting go of the old — mentally clearing space for fresh, spring energy.

Flapjacks - delicious and sugar free
If you’ve been to my Slow Down Sunday workshops, you’ve probably tried my homemade flapjacks — Perfect as a post-yoga treat or a grab-and-go snack. They’re originally from Davina's 5 Weeks to Sugar Free recipe book, but I make a few tweaks. Here’s my version of the recipe:
Ingredients:
200g unsalted butter
250ml honey
150g chopped dates (can substitute for your choice of dried fruit)
325g porridge oats
75g desiccated coconut
Method:
Preheat your oven to 180°C (160°C fan). Line a 30x20cm tin with baking paper
Melt the butter, honey and dates in a pan over a low heat, crushing the dates with a wooden spoon so they break up and get all squidgy.
Stir in the oats and coconut and mix thoroughly.
Press the mixture into the tin and bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.
Remove from oven and score the surface immediately into even squares.
Let them cool completely in the tin, then cut the squares and store in the fridge. Enjoy!
I added dried Cranberries to these ones. I hope you enjoy making them :-)
Spring is a beautiful reminder that growth doesn’t happen overnight. It unfolds gradually — bud by bud, leaf by leaf. So, as you step into this brighter season, give yourself permission to move at your own pace.
Whether you’re heading outdoors more, trying new creative hobbies or building strength and energy on the mat, let spring be a time to recharge, refresh and enjoy the little things.
Until next time, Laura xoxo
